Our Aim, Goal and Principles

School's aim: To prepare the atmosphere to grow up Vefa high school students who depends on national and moral values and who are bilingual, successful and productive and can communicate with contemporary world and had upper class education.


Vefa Establishments

Vefa High School Community is a big community including parent-teacher association, Vefa high school education foundation, Vefa alumni, Vefa council and Vefa sports club.

Vefa High School  Parent-Teacher Association
Founded by the parents, parent-teacher association aims to gather the school and parents, establish contact and cooperation between parents and the school, support activities improving education, provide fort he needs of the students who have physical imposibilities and provide financial support to the school.

Vefa Alumni

Vefa’da yetişenler derneği which began to operate on 21 July, 1947 is the first organisation founded by the teachers and the graduates of Vefa High School.
Vefa alumni was founded on 27 December, 1973 as a continuation of Vefa da Yetişenler Derneği which furnished successful services at first but lost its function in the meantime.

Vefa High School Education Foundation

Vefa Community had been wishing for the establishment of Vefa Foundation since 1974 but it could only be established in 1989 and the settlement deed was published on the 8 September ,1990 dated , 20629numbered official register.

The aim of Vefa Foundation was explained in the third clause of the establishment deed. According to this clause, the foundation aims to provide social solidarity between graduates and members, serve for the social,intellectual and scientific development  of Turkish people, and to contribute to give efficient educational services.

Vefa Sports Club

Vefa Sport Club is another Vefa establishment. The club which was founded in 1908, is the fourth sports club founded in Turkey.

Saim Turgut Aktansel , the first founder of the club, tells the history of Vefa Sports Club, which was founded to direct Vefa High School youth to sport, and bring up a physically and morally healthy generation, in the second volume  the 15th issue of monthly encyclopedia as in below;
Gathering of the antrepreneurs to establish Vefa Exercise Association started in1908 in Vefa. The attempt to establish an exercise association first started within a class later it spreaded to a second class and finally to the whole school.

The regulations of the association were formed in 1910. The first uniform of the club was  green and white striped and its badge was also in the same colours.
The club which was supported by Vefa high school teachers and students gained ground.
The administration of Vefa Sports Club which is still on duty gives this information about the past and today of the club :

Vefa Sports Club was founded in 1908 by Vefa high scool history teacher Saim Turgut Aktansel The club which was founded in Kadırga at first was later moved to Vefa. In 1942-1943 season it was moved to the building  at the current Vefa Stadium by Hasan Ali Yücel, director who was also a graduate of Vefa.

Beneficial ownership of the Vefa stadium was given to our club by the general directorate of physical training. But after a while they couldn’t afford the maintaining expenses so youth and sport general directorate was given to Istanbul provincial directorate and some sections stayed in Vefa Sports Club.

Our club is one of the fourth clubs founded in Turkey. In football branch, we took part in competitions in the first group, amateur young aged between 14-16, 12-14 and 10-12. Our junior team won a championship.

We may call Vefa the only team in Turkey which has an infrastructure, a stadium, changing rooms and a manager of supply department and a masseur.

 

Different Applications
at Education

Class Family Union: The union consists of at least three people who are chosen at the beginning of the educational first term .Especially it contributes the solutions of the problems which occurs in the classroom. It Works with the school family union in an accord.

Teachers' Education: The school provides in service training opportunities for the teachers with the universities corporations at branches and at the level of pedagogic formation.

Guiding guardian of the students: It consists of activities which was given by the experts with the supports of the school family union and leadership service about “young and family relationship and teenagers problems, adolescence problems” for informing the guardian of the students.

The best success scholarship: The students who came first, second ,or third at success in lessons are given scholarship by Vefa unions.

Guardian's appreciation letter:
It is given to the parents whose children are thought to be a model because of their behaviours and their appearance at the end of the term.

Social aids: Books, clothes, school service, lunch and educational scholarship are given to the poor students by Vefa high school educational charity, Vefa associations, school family unions and some charitable people. Educational scholarship is given to twelve Vefa high school graduates and sixty Vefa high school students.
